Set Jeans

This week was spent prepping and shooting my new collection of t-shirts. You guys, I have t-shirts coming in just a few weeks! They are, you can imagine, great with jeans. I l-o-v-e love how they feel. Love the fabric. The shapes were always clear to me, but once I found the fabric it’s like I blinked and they were here. Seriously, all the inspiration in the world – all the sketching and dreaming and meetings and swipe – mean as much as a mood board (no offense to mood boards) without the right fabric.

I was reminded of this recently while watching Marc by Sofia, Sofia Coppola’s documentary about her friend Marc Jacobs and the making of his Spring 2024 collection, which begins with the designer scrutinizing fabrics of the most exquisite and technical construction. I was raptured by this film, it made my heart beat faster (a phrase my husband likes to use to describe love).
