Today’s post is more like a postcard because I’m on spring break in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain with my family and friends, playing with kids in pools and enjoying the local Malvasía Volcánica wine. We’ve been all over the place this past week, from bustling Costa Adeje in the south to Santa Cruz in the north, which delighted me most with its traditional, old-town architecture and wacky cacti.
I packed seven dresses and haven’t worn one. What I have been wearing are these Paige shorts and this Negative underwear mini bra, with Bode shirts (no surprise there) and Jimmy Fairly sunglasses. The sunglasses are men’s and look expensive, but cost what I want to pay for shades that frequently get smeared with sunscreen. These Ancient Greek Sandals flip-flops were a no-brainer to bring. I wear them and honestly haven’t thought about footwear for days.

We head back to Madrid tomorrow and on Monday I start a language intensive at the International House: Spanish lessons for four hours a day, five days a week for two weeks. Eek, I haven’t been in a classroom in two decades. You can wish me luck by liking this post. Thank you for reading and joining me on this trip of trips. As always, Denim Forever.

In case you missed it…
Here’s how I got here.
Madrid has so many great sneakers you’ve never heard of.
These are my street style heroes.
I am so impressed with your intensive Spanish classes. Drink lots of coffee to stay awake and engaged!
I'm continuing to feel happy and proud of your explorations into the other side. A good way to immerse and learn faster. Read and listen in Spanish simple books you've liked and already. Have read/listened in English. Agatha Christie, Austen, Harry Potter. etc. Watch series in Spanish with subtitles if you want. To get accustomed to the cadence. The music of the language.
